THE MIRACLE OF GOD’S PROVISION
Korowai Centre
READ OUR STORY BELOW OF THE MIRACLE OF GOD’S PROVISION:
“Enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch out the curtains of your habitations; spare not, lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes. For you shall spread out to the right hand and to the left, your descendants shall inherit the nations and make desolate cities to be inhabited.”
— Isaiah 54:2-3
In 2005 God began to speak to us about being intentional with regards our location, and putting a ‘stake’ in the ground with property.
After some powerful prayer times and prophetic vision, we were able, in 2007, to acquire and move into our own multi-purpose building which is strategically positioned as it is within walking distance to the University of Canterbury. In September 2010 we were rudely awakened with a big earthquake. We never would have guessed that we would experience many years of ongoing major earthquakes and well over 10 000 aftershocks. We praise God for a facility that stood firm during this time and has been used to serve our community and provide a safe place for our spiritual family. God's grace enabled us to hold on, to not give up and to persevere and as a result we have had the privilege of being a part of the physical and spiritual rebuilding of the city of Christchurch.
Each chapter in our Every Nation Christchurch history has been full of its own significance: challenges, tears, sweat, victories and defining moments! We are amazed at what God has established. Over the years many people, young and old have been transformed. Broken lives have been restored, family and marriages reconciled and reunited, and leaders equipped to impact society. God's favour has enabled us to establish a multi-generational and multi-cultural church.
DURING 2017 GOD SPOKE TO US ABOUT ENLARGING OUR CAPACITY.
And in 2020 ? we embarked on a Building Project to enlarge our capacity to reach the nations. We have always been clear that a building is there simply to serve the vision and we remain committed to Encountering God, Finding Family, Being Equipped and Empowered and Extending His Kingdom
We would never have imagined or planned to undergo such a big renovation during the two years of Covid and a transfer of leadership, simultaneously! BUT GOD! God sustained us during this challenging season, and we came out stronger and ready for the new season of harvest and growth
We have a passion to equip and empower disciples and release leaders who will bring transformation to our world. We see many thousands of people encountering the love of Jesus. We see this new space being a place of healing and worship, a place where people will be loved, belong and find purpose. We see life, freedom and joy.
The ongoing vision of the church to be an airport, with people of all cultures learning to know God, students arriving for their studies, and others being refuelled by God to be sent out again, continues to burn strongly. “We believe God has called us to be an epicentre for the fires of revival and awakening.”
We see generational impact and inheritance, and community transformation. We see thousands being released from this centre to bring His Kingdom to their spheres of influence, and we see the nations being impacted by the gospel from Christchurch, New Zealand. We have a big God dream and vision for this building to be used radically to bring His Kingdom to earth ‘as it is in heaven.’
In 2019 we named our centre the Korowai centre
Korowai Centre
The Korowai is a traditional woven Maori cloak. The Korowai is worn as mantle of prestige and honour. The name Korowai is symbolic of leadership, and includes the obligation to care for the people and environment. The Korowai was traditionally worn only by those who were in the higher echelons of Maori society. It represented mana and all things of high standing. Today its seen differently, however in the traditional sense, the word itself still holds the position of mana and high standing
We believe God would prophetically use the Korowai centre to nurture, refresh, restore and strengthen you
"I will hide you under the shelter of my wings. I will be your fortress and your refuge, and you will find rest ” Psalm 91

The promise of Isaiah 61
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to comfort all who mourn; to give them the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.
They shall build up the ancient ruins; they shall raise up the former devastations; they shall repair the ruined cities, the devastations of many generations. Instead of your shame there shall be a double portion; instead of dishonour they shall rejoice in their lot; therefore in their land they shall possess a double portion; they shall have everlasting joy.Their offspring shall be known among the nations, and their descendants in the midst of the peoples; all who see them shall acknowledge them, that they are an offspring the Lord has blessed.”
